have you heard of karl's cabin in plymouth? i have not been there, but have seen them in mailings. they've got the rustic atmosphere you're looking for i think. check them out and let me know what you think. i live in novi so i can try to come up with some other suggestions...
If I lived on that side of town, I totally would have it at The Library Pub (Novi or Commerce). I love that place and they have a simple bar/sandwich menu that I think would be great for a relaxing night out with friends.
Otherwise, I saw people having a rehearsal dinner at Bookie's in downtown Detroit a few weeks ago. Very nice remodeled place behind the Fox Theatre.
Have you thought about moving your RD from Livonia/ Novi to Ann Arbor? It's 30 minutes away, but there are some fabulous venues. Just an idea for you to think about.
Thanks all for the input!! We actually booked Karl's Cabin this weekend, on suggestion from gamblina. The food was great and they have a large private room to host our RD. Thanks for the idea gamblina!!!!

I'm looking for a good rehearsal dinner spot in the Northville/Plymouth/Livonia/Novi areas. I REALLY wanted to have it at Deadwood Bar & Grill (the log cabin, woodsy feel is perfect for our November wedding and the food is YUMMY) but they wouldn't do it for us! Apparently we did not have enough people in our party to make it worth while for them. Grrrrr...
