- Wedding: September 2013
For as long as I can remember, my fiance has wanted to have our rehearsal dinner at Rock Bottom. It’s his favorite restaurant.
But when we first contacted them, we learned that the main dinner menu that goes with the private room was $30/per, which was way more than we could afford (that’s actually more than we’re paying the caterer for the wedding).
Anyway, after looking at the menu/pricing again, we noticed that there was a “create your own dinner” option, which meant that you picked 4 entrees ranging in price from $18 – $25. This was obviously cheaper so we decided we could afford it and I emailed the guy saying that we wanted to go with this option for the private dining room (the option was included with the menu/info that he sent FOR the private dining room).
Today I get an email from him saying, “here’s what we can do – if no one books the room for that night between now and Sept 27th, it’s yours.”
Why can’t they hold it? Is it because we’re going with the cheaper option? The option that was INCLUDED on their menu/info for the private room?
Like, WTF? I emailed him back asking why they can’t guarantee the room but he hasn’t gotten back to me yet.
I’m really irritated.
I feel like saying F it and just going elsewhere. I feel like this is so rude! Like the guests who can afford the expensive menu have a right to the private room but we don’t.
If that’s the case, don’t include the cheaper/more flexible option on your private dining info!
