I’m kerflomuxed. Our wedding it about 3 hours away from Seattle on the Olympic Peninsula. We also have alot of people flying in. The wedding party is going out a few days early to get things set up, but so will alot of the out of towners, so the rehearsal dinner could be quite crowded.
The lodge has a no external food policy, and their cheapest option is $20 per person for hamburgers and hot dogs. Drinks, like soda, is not included. So I was hoping one of the day use picnic areas could be reserved. No dice, plus they close at 6pm (which is silly since its light out until 9pm) So what other creative solutions are there to have a rehearsal dinner, that doesn’t break the bank? Places to look, etc?

Is there a local restaurant that might be a little more accommodating? We had pizza & pitchers of beer for our Rehearsal Dinner and it wasn’t nearly as expensive as what your venue is trying to charge.

@DaneLady: Our location is just so far out there isn’t even a pizza joint. Its a good idea though!

If you really are in the middle of nowhere it seems your only option is the restaurant at the lodge.

Yeah, I’m not sure what options there are if you can’t go anywhere else and you can’t bring food to the place …. ? Maybe have a few relatives get sandwhich supplies on their way through civilization and do a picnic type thing? Sounds like a bit of a headache though.

@taraesque: We found a public park, and rented out a pavillion! It was like $90 for the 1 day rental!
