Rehearsal – how early did you know your date/time?

We already have it scheduled for our 10-31 wedding, it’ll be the night before. We needed to choose a date early because the rehearsal was a part of our officiants package.

MsGinkgo:  We didn’t know until the week before our wedding.  Because we were having our weddind AND reception at a hall, they said if someone wants to book the hall Friday you’ll have to do your set up and rehearsal your wedding day (or not at all).  This was horrific planning wise, but luckily it worked out.  Really ceremonies aren’t that complicated so I w as’nt worried about the rehearsal part, just the decorating.

We had a lot of out of town people involved, so it was pretty much a given that it would be the night before, otherwise it would have been really inconvientient for our loved ones. So for us, we decided on that as soon as we knew the date.

I booked mine about two weeks ago and my wedding is next January, so I know the exact time a little over 10 months in advance.

We just picked the night before. Everyone would be there and it just seemed logical. We decided that probably a year in advance, when we booked the ceremony space.

MsGinkgo:  We are having a church wedding, so our rehearsal was scheduled about a week after we confirmed our wedding date for 5 pm the Friday night before.

I always assumed they were done the night before the wedding.  We just booked our rehearsal dinner for the night before, and we will obviously be doing the rehearsal prior to the dinner…

Like many people, ours was scheduled for the night before, Friday, so that the OOT wedding party members had arrived in town.

MsGinkgo:  I knew as soon as we booked our venue but that’s only because we are allowed to use the venue for the rehearsal and they wrote our time block for it into the contract.  It took us longer to decide on where the rehearsal dinner would be.

We always wanted to have our rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, with FI’s brother’s band playing, so we knew the day a year in advance. We just booked the venue a month or two ago, so we knew the time 4-5 months in advance.

We just found out our rehersal time last weekend.  It’s going to be the Friday before at 1:30pm and I’m glad because we will be able to do an early dinner that night!

We had it the afternoon before and then drove to our venue for the rehearsal and setup. I told everyone I think about 2 months in advance. Unfortunately the gromsmen didn’t seem to understand the impotance of the dinner or the rehearsal. Two of them showed up to the dinner briefly to eat, and then left and came to the rehearsal 2 hours late, pushing everything back!
