My friends got married on December 1st and the grooms birthday was on November 30th, the same day as the rehearsal dinner. So when his parents sent out the rehearsal dinner invites they said that they were going to suprise the groom with a birthday cake. He had no idea since everything was all about the wedding. We didn't go all out for his birthday cause he just isn't into it anymore (he was turning 28) but we still sang to him and had cake for dessert.
So you never know, someone could already be planning to get you a cake!
Our rehearsal was two days before the wedding, which was also my 24th b-day. We had cake, and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" at dinner that night, which was really nice. I didn't want anyone to go all out, but our parents still got both of us birthday gifts along with wedding gifts (my husband's birthday was a couple days after the wedding). It wasn't a huge celebration, but it was nice to be recognized and treated a little extra special on my birthday. I think, at the very least, you should get dessert (or dessertS) of your choice at the rehearsal dinner. What are birthdays for if not for ordering your favorite dessert?
my bday is a wk and a day before our wedding. that actually came into play when we picked the date - i didn't want it the day after my bday. i love that my parents will be here to celebrate with me - it's been more than 10 years since i've seen them both on my bday! we're going out for dinner - just the fam.
@ mrs. spring - mmm dessert! good call!
Yeah, Im not really down with it ending up being a big thing (cause I have heard whispers - nothing can be kept from me) a cake would be good enough for me!

So when our officiant suggested doing our rehersal dinner on the Thursday before our Saturday wedding, I thought YES! that is wonderful, we won't be uber stressed on Friday, can get alot more done etc etc etc.
I realized nearly a MONTH later after scheduling the dinner that, wait a minute...the Thursday is my 23rd birthday...Its rcazy how you forget about things like that when your planning your wedding.
Now I have never been crazy on birthdays altogether but I dont really know what we should do. I mean I dont really want a spotlight on me for my birthday when honestly the wedding is more of a big deal, so I was wondering if we should do something, like a cake or something or what?
any other bees have weddings on or near their wedding days? did it get pushed aside or did you still go all out?
