missabby:  They said…and I know this will sound nuts…that I had a group of people surrounding me all dressed in white and they were protecting me. See? Nuts!

This is so interesting…I always just thought Reiki was transferring of energy for healing…I didn’t know that there was a psychic component to it…

I am confused… I thought Reiki was just healing through energy. Was this Reiki master also a medium/psychic? Because to my knowledge anyone can learn Reiki but few people can talk to the deceased or predict the future.

Ryansgirl:  MrsTeasandkeys:  Reiki in and of itself is an energy healing modality. Some Reiki pracitioners have other gifts – clairsenitence, clairvoyance, clairaudience, etc. – it just depends on how they have developed in their spiritual practice.

My Reiki Master also comes from the Shamanic tradition and, as such, has other gifts that she can use, if appropriate to the situation and the client. She is, however, very careful in how she offers these gifts and only ever with the permission of her client.

In my journey as a Reiki II practitioner, I have not yet developed any additional capabilities. Not sure that I will, but I certainly appreciate the beauty of channeling our life force energy as my personal gift and contribution.

missabby:  I think a lot of the spiritual world has to do with where your beliefs lie and what resonates with you. Personally, I do not doubt that opening energy pathways has the potential to open us up to communicating across time and space. That being said, I am curious about how you found this person, and whether she indicated to you that she might be able to offer some extrasensory perceptions? Did she ask to set your intentions for the session?

As far as Reiki itself is concerned, IMO it is an excellent way to assist us on our spiritual/healing/personal growth journeys. And yes, absolutely some recent troubles in your relationship could be bringing up deeper stuff. May I ask what drew you to Reiki?

MrsTeasandkeys:  Ryansgirl:  Yes, exactly. My friend had her own shop and gave me reiki but she was also “gifted”.

I’ve often wondered if those in white, she saw protecting me, were the ones who stopped me from accidentally stepping in front of a bus. It was raining and windy and the umbrella blew in my face so I didn’t notice wwhen I stepped off the curb and the bus was just an inch from my face.

missabby:  This may have been exactly what you needed to hear!

missabby:  While I am a bit suprised that she didn’t offer that she may have other gifts, and that she didn’t check in with you prior (or maybe she did – did she explain the process/inquire as to whether you had any specific needs?), I am not in a place to judge. Based on my experience, these are a part of a session…

So I guess the next question is – are you comfortable with her? I think it’s awesome that you are feeling more clarity! It’s a pretty cool feeling, isn’t it? I remember my first session, I left buzzing with energy – only to get home and have a supreme blowout with my BF. One of the things we can be sure of as we clear our energy is that any issues/wounds/blocks ARE going to be brought to the surface so that we can deal with them. As it turned out, that blowout was necessary to MY growth and my journey.

Hurtful, but empowering at the same time. Feel free to PM me if you ever have any questions. : )

As an aside – what kind of competitive riding? I am an eventer!
