Have you checked out James Avery's website? They have a lot of things for men with religious themes:

How about a watch engraved with the reference of a favorite verse? You might also look into getting a good concordance, if you don't have one already. Strongs is awesome. I'm sure they also have a software version of it, if that's more his style.
I second James Avery, we got my DH'd wedding band fromt he website. its pricey but VERY good quality.
Maybe a fancy bookmark engraved with a sweet note from you and/or a verse commemorating the day and how proud you are of him. Or even a nice religious image/print, or maybe a pretty/artsy photo of the church or some part of it, or a verse (calligraphy or something) framed for on the wall.

I just got married 8 months ago and my next weekend my husband will be ordained as a deacon in our (Presbyterian) church. I would like to get him a gift to commemorate the day, but I'm stuck on ideas. I was thinking that a religious gift would be appropriate, but a bible is out (we have a nice one already). Suggestions?
