I got the WORST haircut in the world last weekend and I’m doing everything I can to ensure a speedy hair re-growth. Tonight I went out and bought folic acid because I read that it makes your hair grow faster. I’m also currently sitting on the couch watching Swingers while I wait for my hair to ‘cook’ – I’ve got a mask of olive oil and egg yolk in to soften it. I’ve never tried it before but I’m hoping it will tame the mane. My hair is SO short right now, and I’ll be straightening the crap out of it to keep it from going puffy.
Any advice for making hair grow faster? Ughhh so annoooooying!!!

Oh, that sucks. How short is it?
Biotin and folic acid are supposed to be good for hair growth, as is just good health habits.

Any photos? There could be some bees on here with good remedial styling tips!

Leafy green vegetables, protein, and frequent scalp massages. Seriously.

@kaylee26: It’s to my chin… I asked the guy to trim it by a couple of inches, keeping it longer in the front (to my shoulders) and a bit shorter in the back. Next thing I know, he’s cut me a straight bob all the way around, even shaving a bit of hair in the back – that’s how short it got!!! 🙁
I’m so sad because I just got engaged three weeks ago, and thought that I’d spruce myself up to match my ring, ha. Now I’m so full of regret. *sigh*

@MsGolightly: I hate when they don’t follow instructions.

@brandy-lynn: For real, the scalp massages are great.
They stimulate blood flow and encourage hair growth. Once each morning before you shower/style and when you’re home for the dayyou can do it again, and then all through the evening and before bed. Also, use as little heat or styling product as you can, and wash your hair every other day if possible to keep the natural oils on it.

Could you use some Bobby pins and clips to style it? That’s what I did when I had a horrible hair cut.

@adnama: No photos right now – I’ve avoided them thus far, and I have my mask, plastic wrap, and a towel on my head right now 🙂 I’m considering going to get a fixer upper haircut next weekend though. I’m annoyed also because it’s too short to put in a ponytail or cover up, you know?
@brandy-lynn: Thanks for the advice! More of an excuse to have my Fiance give me head massages!

@kaylee26: I knooooow!!!! I’m so ashamed because two different people told me not to go to this salon, but I felt bad because it was too late to change my appointment, so I went. Last time I let my guilt lead me to a bad haircut!!
@indibee: Thank you so much – I’m totally going to do the scalp massages as often as possible. I try to wash my hair every other day anyway, so at least I kind of have that habit going for me…
@QBbride: Tomorrow I’m going to try pinning it all up. It will also help me avoid the blow dryer and straightener. So far though, the pins don’t seem to help much, especially in the back. Ugggghhhhhhhhhh.

This is going to sound silly, but go to the pet store and get a Uv heat lamp ( the ones that mimic sun light) and replace a few lights ( or one light you sit next to a lot ) with it. The heat and UV will help your hair grow. I have a friend that did this and we compared her hair to mine in a month and her hair grew 2 inches while mine was olny 1/4 of an inch.
