I’ve noticed as we grow older, we forget the good advice we got as we were kids. What was something really inspiring or interesting you heard as a child that really stuck with you through your life?
One of my mom’s mom”isms” is: “It’s not the end of the world.” She’s been saying this since probably before I was born, and it really helped me get through things like failing a test or breaking something. I still say it to myself when something goes wrong and I’m freaking out about it. haha

@OneOfTheseDaysAlice: My mom said that too!
My favorite was “it only gets harder when you get older”. Boy was she right! :p
Being a kid was great!

This isn’t really inspiring, but I have constantly remind myself to share. I know it’s silly but if my SO wants to hang out with his friends and I really want to see him, I hear my kindergarten teacher’s voice in my head saying “I know you want it, but you need to share!” haha

My favorite from my Dad: “Never be afraid to be a dork”…which I definitely take advantage on daily. (not so much inspiring..I suppose haha)

From my dad: “Just as long as you tried your best” 🙂
From my mom: “A man should be there to enhance your life.. If he doesn’t, the relationship is not worth it” … Moms know everything!

All from my Mom:
“You take a little bit of everyone you meet with you.”
“Find a man you WANT to spend the rest of your life with, not the man you NEED to spend the rest of your life with.” Basically, she taught me to never fully depend on anyone else.

Whenever I would get discouraged as a kid my dad would always say, “It’s not over ’til it’s over”. When my Dad almost died from a severe stroke, I went to his bedside after surgery and told him that he had really scared us. He whispered to me, “It’s not over ’til it’s over”
It will be my next tattoo 🙂
