@kl1987:  I’m goong to look into the bouquet picture frames you can get for my brothers picture. If you want something more public some people have put flowers on chairs in rememberance or put something in the program. My bff had someone light a candle before the ceremony in rememberance.

@kl1987:  We’re going to do a seat at the ceremony reserved for those that have gone before us.

We had candles with our loved ones names on them.  I printed their names on vellum and double-sided taped them onto the pillar candle.  They were very lovely.  We placed them at the entrance of the reception room next to the guest book and seatng chart etc.

We’re probably going to have a seat reserved for FIs mother who passed away last year. We still have to work out the logistics of it, but probably will have a photograph or flowers on it.

I ordered a jewellery tree off eBay and I’m going to hang a mini frame for each person on it with a sign saying “we know you would be here today, if heaven weren’t so far away”. I wanted to have FI’s parents there in some way, and after the wedding we can display the tree in our home.

FI and I have sadly lost our fair share of family members: his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather, his 2 uncles, my maternal grandparents and grandmother, and my uncle.

To honor them all we are lighting a memory candle at our ceremony. For the reception, because we cannot have candles, we are having a little end table set up with our dearly departeds’ photographs and a little handmade sign that says “We know you would be here today, if heaven wasn’t so far away” next to the photos.

@kl1987:  Hi, I was thinking of getting something like this for my wedding, as we’ve had some of our relatives pass away too. Maybe set it up on the same table as the guest book or something.

Not sure where to find this particular one though, but I like it.

@kl1987:  Where to put the chair and who to put next to it is definitely a problem. It’s fairly likely that FFIL will bring a date as well so it might be a bit awkward. I’m going to leave the decision of my FI as to how do it since its his mother we’d be honouring.

@ksus07:  have a look in giftware shops. My mum has one, and I was thinking of getting one too, but it had more frames than I needed. Plus I’m normally very crafty so I want to make it.
