Hi all! So the Fiance and I are considering doing a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Ft Lauderdale. We’re thinking of renting an apartment for the weekend, and having everyone chip in to share the cost, because we expect it would be cheaper than booking hotels and it means everyone could be in the same place to hang out all the time. Has anyone done anything like this and have any recomendations for how to find an apartment to rent? I know there are websites that specialize in this, but I’ve never used any of them, so I don’t know what’s reliable. Thanks for the advice!

I’ve never heard of renting an apartment for the weekend. Have you called any that you’re interested in? A hotel room may be easier…

VRBO.com – they have hundreds of optioins…literally!

I would just check Craigslist (not your local one, but the one in FL) to see if there are any vacation rentals.

Thanks guys! We’ve also found some promising leads on http://www.homeaway.com so hopefully we’ll book in the next week or two! Any other suggestions?
@ bobbypinpearls – We want to do a house instead of a hotel because there are going to be lots of people, and we don’t want to get in trouble for cramming a hotel room. Also, with such thin walls we don’t want to bother anyone in the ajoining rooms with all of our loud craziness 🙂 Plus the houses we’re looking at so far have their own pools, which is awesome!

My friends and I booked a small 1 bedroom apartment on St. Pete Beach for the weekend in high school. It was much cheaper than a hotel and it had a kitchen!
Check out VRBO but also just google places that do weekly apartment rentals.
I totally agree that if you can get a condo/townhouse/apartment etc it makes for a much more fun trip because everyone isn’t stuck in different hotel rooms.
Also, check out RCI.com They are a big time share company but I think the public can book at most of their places. Their website will tell you what locations have 1,2, 3 bedroom places to rent.
