I got married two months ago and when I was planning, I couldn’t find many examples of people who had used Rent the Runway for their bridesmaids. Using them was one of the BEST choices I made for my wedding. the dresses were awesome, cheap, and the process was so easy.
Feel free to ask me any questions about the process. Below is a snapshot from our wedding.
ut the process.

Those are really pretty! How much did they cost to rent? Did the bridesmaids get to try them on in advance, or did they come in right before the wedding?

I LOVE rent the runway, and have toyed with this idea myself. luckily, RTR has two showrooms in NYC now so we could try them on if we want. You can also do a new “try 5” option and have 5 dresses sent to you to try on for 24 hours.

In my case, we were able to have one bridesmaid try on the dresses in their showroom in NYC.The other girls just went alog with it and trusted our choice. There are certain cuts that are more universally flattering (including this one) so we all felt good that it would be the right choice for everyone.
You can also flip through a ton of photos of real people in the dresses on the site. That makes it easier to see how it look son different body types. My bridesmaids ranged from size 2-8 and from an a cup to a D cup.One of them is even pregnant!
This dress was $75 for a four-day rental. We got them on Thursday and sent them back on Monday.
One of my favorite things about RTR is that they will send you two sizes just in case. So for the three girls, we got six dresses. we could have just rented two and gotten four because my girls are close in size.

@HobbyLobbyist: I am really hoping I can convince my girls to do this. I love the dresses your girls wore and would like the long navy version for my bms. I may be messaging you with questions soon.

Love RTR! Great idea for a wedding. Maybe even for mix and match dresses?

Those dresses are SOOOO pretty. What designer are they? I just showed some of my BM’s the Rent The Runway site and they liked the concept.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I have always LOVED the idea of using RTR for weddings, but hadn’t seen anyone do it yet. I’m so glad to know it went well. The dresses look fantastic!

But theres no possibility of alterations. Wouldnt you be nervous that someone wouldnt have a dress that fits? I know you get two sizes but, I’d be scared. I do consider it though.

Where has this been all my life?!?! Thank you, HobbyLobbyist for posting this. Unfortunately my bridesmaids have already bought their dresses, but I will definitely be using RTR for my engagement photo and rehearsal dinner dress.

MrsBuesleBee: RTR has tons of pictures of REAL girls/women wearing the dresses (not models) with plenty of reviews. That takes a lot of uncertainty out of the sizing issue because it’s so much easier to figure out what size you need after you see real people wearing them. You can also call/chat with an RTR stylist if you need additional help with sizing.
