For our reception, we are renting the chairs (same ones for ceremony) and the tables for eatingnthat go under the tent. However, I am about to email the rental company.. But before I do, I need to make sure I have it correct…
I also need to rent a table for the cake, the buffet, the DJ, the guest book, right? I don’t know why I didn’t really think about this when I asked for a quote. What else am I missing? Or did you bring tables from home? Lol.
l am trying to laugh this off but the expenses definitely just keep adding up 🙁

@alotlikelove: You can try to use tables from home but it’s easier to just rent them. Ask the DJ if they need you to provide them with a table first. Your guest book table can double as a gift table (guest book at one end, gifts on the other.) Are you renting linens? Plates, cups, utensils? Rentals can add up fast. Do your best to estimate, you can usually add or subtract items at a later date before the wedding.

@beachbride1216: Thanks! I will be sure to inquire first!

What I did to try to figure out what we need to rent is literally mentally walk through the entire thing. As in, first I will go to the bride room. X and Y will be in there with me. They will need to sit down. Are there chairs there? No? Okay, add that. Next I will walk down the aisle. There will be chairs on my left and right. I will be standing under an altar… etc, etc.
You can also ask the reception site what people usually bring in–they might even have some sample layouts for you to help figure these things out.

@alotlikelove: What about lights, fans/heaters, flooring, extra electrical cords?

Do you need a table at your ceremony site, for programs or bubbles or what have you? How about for drinks and cocktail hour food?

Linens, if you are planning on renting.

where will the caterer set up? do they need tables for their area?
will the caterer be supplying the plating, cutlery, stemware, linens and napkins or do you?
also, check with the caterer to make sure that you have a large enough table for the buffet. this will be based on number of guests and menu selection.
will you have escort cards or favours that require a table? cake table. gift table. guest book table.
are you having a dance floor? do you need to rent that too?
