You could always try something on Craig's list or this site to look for someone willing to trade.
I know this isn't the most "green" suggestion, but whatabout the new plasticware that looks like china and silverware. Yes, you won't trick anyone when the pick it up, but it could be a more cost effective option.
Miss Meatball started something called Bride$hare. I haven't looked into it, but I know she shared expenses with another bride and it seemed to work out very well...
thank you maam! I think the website's great and I was actually looking for it! I think the only problem is that it's so small now but the concept is great. I think I'll have to join so I can help grow the memberlist

My FH and I are having both the ceremony and reception on our property which is outdoors with lots of pinetrees by a lake. We are planning for 100+ guests so to cut costs, we're DIYing it all- the cake, the catering, invites, etc. etc. However, there seems to be no way around the rental aspect of it- since we're doing everything ourselves(buffet styled reception), we need plates, silverware, chairs, tables, table linens. We're only going to rent tables and chairs but geez, ultimately we're buying the linens and stoneware from Dollar Tree plates and the silverware b/c even if it's 50% more to buy, we get to keep it at least. This comes out to just a mere $1200!! And $5,000 was supposed to be our budget. Oh well. I guess just booking the two venues(cere. and recep. site) would end up costing something similar. I must be crazy.
Is there a good site that allows trading of the brides?
