I think I would call the police. It’s jewellery that they have in their possession that it isn’t theirs. Frown

@NovaGrey:  Why wasn’t it insured and why didn’t it require a signature? Did the company offer this to you and you turned it down? If not, it is 100% their responsibility to get i back or replace it for you! I am so sorry..What a nightmare!

Also, isn’t a federal offense to open another persons mail???

Yikes! The repair company absolutely is at fault. They used the wrong address after you told them, and then they shipped it without insurance/signature! If you can’t get it resolved through the police, then they need to step up and give you a replacement.

@NovaGrey:  Haha I didn’t think you were a crazy person, just checking! It seems like THEY are the crazy ones! This same thing happened to my parents a few years ago.. Someone sent them a $5k money order to our OLD address…My mom even went there trying to collect it but the people who lived there pretended they didn’t know what she was talking about. They totally cashed it with a fake ID or something at Walmart! So messed up! My parents even got the police involved but I don’t think there was much they could do. Luckily I think it was Western Union? They just wrote my parents another check and wrote it off I think.

Good luck! Hopefully its miscommunication, not sketchiness!

@NovaGrey:  I’m so sorry!  That’s awful!  In terms of your pictures, I would buy a close-looking CZ stand-in and wear that.  Pic of your ering?

That IS a nightmare.  I am so sorry this happened to you.  Please keep us updated.  I, for one, would like to know if the police can/will do anything.  I hope you get your ring back.  Good Luck!

@NovaGrey:  OMG that is such a nightmare. Can you call the police or a lawyer and ask if you can do anything about it?

@NovaGrey:  contact the postal inspector and local police.  If they opened your mail it is a federal offense!
