Thanks for the video, @julies1949! The rip is a bit bigger than the one in the video, and actually I think it might be on a seam...? I can't recall. Anyway, when we get it today I will see if that technique will work! Still a little worried I would mess it up, though.

I found a secondhand leather couch on Craigslist that DH & I absolutely love. It's hardly used - the owners moved and it doesn't fit in their new house. We were able to negotiate to pay about 30% of the original price (the couch is still for sale so I was able to look it up). We're planning to go pick it up tomorrow.
The only issue is that the couch does have a smallish rip on one of the cushions. I would say its 2-3" inches. At first I thought I would be able to sew it, but after doing some research it seems a little more complicated than I thought it would be, considering I have no sewing experience. Now we are looking into having a leather specialist come repair it - no idea how much that would cost.
Anyone have any experience with this or any advice? Thanks!
