Well, it could be possible, but it might end up costing you more than the dress to have it done. Does the etsy seller offer these earrings in silver?
Can the seller make you silver earrings, it seems like taking the silver off the dress is going to be a task and might cost you.
I think it would be easier to contact the seller and see if he/she could make the earrings in silver. That seems easier than trying to get the dress redone. I do like the dress though--very pretty and simple.
I was just going to say the same thing as the rest of the bee's - see if the etsy seller can do the earrings in silver. If you don't want the shiny-ness of sterling silver, ask if they can oxidize the earrings a bit. If the seller is unable to do that, you can always post the picture in the alchemy section of etsy and see if someone can make what you want. (I've had a few things made from the alchemy section - the sellers are AWESOME!)
I agree with everyone else -- and I'd also add that, if it's just the case that you prefer gold over silver, you might want to consider finding a seamstress to custom make you a similar dress with gold accents instead. That dress looks like it's really a pretty simple pattern, so most of the effort would be in the beading, and then you could get the dress custom tailored to your measurements. I think it might actually be cheaper to do it that way, because you wouldn't have to pay the seamstress for the work of taking off all the silver beading!
Just to give you an idea of the relative ease of having a seamstress make you the dress from scratch, here's a pattern for a dress that looks pretty similar:

It's marked as "easy"
HOnestly, if you pair in a few other gold accessories (maybe even gold shoes?)...i think you could get away with the silver beading and the gold earrings. Personally, I don't htink they'd look as good in oxidized silver.
From the pictures it looks like there is silver stitching as well, which would be hard to replace perfectly. It'd probably cost you more to do this than the dress costs!
I think that you can wear the dress as it with the gold earrings. You could very easily ruin the dress if you change the stiching. Get gold shoes and a gold purse. :)
I love it! What a find!
Oh wow can you tell me the name of the seller for those earrings? They're amazing!
You're all very right. I contacted the seller and she sent me this link...

So yes! They come in silver! I was just attached to the idea of that burnished vintage gold, but hey...if I can get this dress for so cheap, I think I can live without one of my favorite colors. :) The name of the seller is liliswan, by the way....she makes some incredibly beautiful stuff!!
I'm so glad you resolved the issue. The earrings are gorgeous and she has some really cool stuff!
Are you going to order the dress?

So I've been haunting Nordstrom's website for a while, and have fallen in love with a (cheap!) dress. The problem is, the top portion of the dress has silver accents, and I have my heart set on these gold earrings from Etsy.
If I find a fantastic seamstress, could she remove the silvery beads and things and replace them with gold ones? I know I should probably find a seamstress and ask her, but I'd like to see if my fellow bees have any experience with seamstresses and what they can and can't do.
Here's the link so you can zoom in on the accents. Zoom in!
