Just some food for thought:

Many people who are ordering fakes are having them confiscated by customs and losing their money anyway. (Not to even go into the child labour issues).

I have several issues with fakes/replicas:

1) You don’t know who makes them, or under what conditions. If someone is unscrupulous enough to produce and sell counterfeit goods, chances are they’re using child labour/sweat shops to manufacture their goods.

2) You cannot know what the quality is like. You could get lucky and get a well-made pair; you could get something poorly made that looks nothing like the original. And you have no come-back at all.

3) Many retailers of counterfeit goods are linked with CC fraud and identity theft. No way would I be entering card details online to a company selling fakes, I wouldn’t trust them.

4) Sometimes they will take your cash, and not send the goods. And again, you have no come-back.

5) Customs are confiscating goods all the time; they’re very hot on counterfeits these days.

I would either splurge, or, if they’re totally out of budget, look for similar shoes by different designers. Benjamin Adams make a lot of strassed shoes, as do Gina; while Gina are still expensive, they will be about half the price of those Loubs. Another option would be to buy a plain shoe, and then buy crystals and strass them yourself. Again, this won’t be super-cheap (you’d probably be looking at around $500-700 to do them properly with high-quality crystals like Swarovski), but they’ll be cheaper than the Loubs.
