Any other August Brides having this problem?
Our reply cards are due tomorrow, and we are currently missing 36 out of the 83 we sent out. I know I’ve hear from people before that some come in a few days after the date because people think it means “postmark by,” but somehow I sincerely doubt we’re getting 36 cards in the next few days! They were addressed and stamped! How easy is that? I just feel like I shouldn’t be missing 40% of the responses with one day to go!

This is human nature, unfortunately. The culture of R.s.v.p.-ing is pretty weak these days – weddings are one of the only occasions people are asked to do it, and a lot of them just flake. I’m glad you did get about a 60% on-time return rate, though. That’s honestly better than what I’m expecting for ours!

uh oh.. well you probably won’t get 36 of them tomorrow.. but it’s definitely possible that you’ll get at least a bunch back in the next few days. hope you don’t have to call too many people

Keep in mind that an RSVP deadline reads to guests as a “mail-by” date, not a “receive-by” date, so to most, tomorrow is that last day for sending the card and then you won’t get it for 2-5 more days. I’d start calling tomorrow or the next day though.

I’m having a bit of this issue, although ours aren’t due until August 1st. But we’re still missing about 22 reply cards. I expect a few more to come in, but there’s certain people we just knew wouldn’t reply. TBH I find it very rude, but not much we can do about it.
