So, I just had a really bad experience on etsy and now I’m a little leary of shopping for rings on there. Thankfully, the seller that was trying to sell me a mass-produced reproduction as an antique vintage ring is willing to give me a full refund so that I don’t report her to etsy for false advertisement.
But I’d love to hear from you guys who’ve purchased your rings on etsy–be they moissanite, custom pieces, or antique/vintage rings. Which store did you use? And please, post pics!

@taterjuice: Eric Stein is wonderful. I hirely recommend him!! He does all kind of stuff. We got a black diamond in a halo plus matching wedding band. 🙂

@lavenderstone – Yes, unfortunately it was my green sapphire ring. It came in the mail on Wednesday and was far daintier [read smaller] than described – and trust me, I asked for measurements in mm – so I was disappointed, but then to make matters worse, the seller posted a rose gold version of the same ring on Friday. Way to break my heart on Valentine’s day! So I contacted her, she’s refunding me in FULL, and I’m shipping the ring back come Tuesday.
So now it’s back to square one. The wedding band we purchased is going back as well as the diamond bands. The seller for the latter is great – Gillian at Gold Adore – and I’d purchase something from her if she actually had what I was looking for. Then again, I’m not entirely sure what I’m looking for–just hoping it will hit me when I see it! I’m just really afraid of having the same thing happen again, but not so much that I’m entirely off etsy.

I’ve heard really great things about onegarnetgirl, and I know a bee has a ring from Kate Szabone that is beautiful.
If you’re stuck on green sapphires, I ordered this a few weeks ago from etsy sller nodeformweddings and she has some other sapphire options, although they are much more contemporary. She’s been really great about customizing things for me (letting me handpick my stone and adding some flush set diamonds to the band) plus she’s really careful about ethically sourcing things.
