Sakari87:  I am based in Australia and I used Lord of Gem Rings for my wedding and engagement rings (they have both Etsy and eBay stores – I ordered once from each and both were fine). The quality has been great so far and the prices are extremely affordable. From memory shipping was free/included in the price and very quick. I believe they are based in China which concerned me a little, but when I saw the quality of the rings for the price I was blown away.

Sakari87:  Wow you are right, $2000 seems pretty pricey for what you are after. Is it because you would need to get it custom made?

Have you tried chain stores like Pascoes, Michael Hill? For wedding bands I know they have a really large catalogue (not just what is in their display) and then you can order it in the metal you require. Because they may have a mould for something similar, perhaps it might be cheaper than other jewellers?

My only suggestion is walker & hall which has stores throughout NZ. Here is something similar – perhaps they might consider making the band in rose gold instead of white? Also not super cheap, but perhaps the NZ/AUD exchange rate may work in your favour –

They also do ship to AUS.

I got our wedding bands from bluenile – very well priced and super fast shipping. They also resized my band for free when it was a bit too small and were so good on the phone and responding to emails. If you find what you want on their site I would really recommend them!

Try Blue Nile or James Allen they’re very reputable and reasonably priced for what you’re asking it shouldn’t cost you much have you also checked out Diamond Emporium in Sydney Gus is amazing he can make the ring at a reasonable cost!

Thought I’d be nice and get you the link

ms-tea:  it’s under a thousand so it won’t incur GST when I purchased a bag I thought I would have to pay tax on it as it was $899 it’s only goods $1000 or more 🙂

lana1709:  mines coming up as over $1000 – it might be an exchange rate thing?

Although the OP could wait for a sale as they often have 10-20% off some jewellery. I got my band 20% off I think which could get you under the GST limit and cheaper if it’s under the $1000 anyway!

I’m pretty sure that 77 diamonds based in the UK will post to Australia and I’ve seen a similar ring on their website –  can’t remember the price though. They made my wedding ring bespoke and it’s a half eternity with 0.4 carat of diamonds in white gold and it was only £600!

Sakari87:  you can always use a forwarding company if you find one you like on a site that does not ship to Australia. Basically the forwarding company gives you a US address to get your goods shipped to and then they ship it to you in Australia. You usually pay by size and weight so a ring would be pretty cheap.

I’m from Sydney and we got my very standard channel set band custom made and it costs just under $1000. 18k white gold, half eternity and the diamonds are F VS2. You don’t have to go online to get a good deal but I would not recommend buying in a normal store in Aus… Ever. Go wholesaler, custom made. All the other bands that were similar in look (don’t even know quality of diamonds) were at least $2000
