I’ve gotten a ton of requests for templates. The thing is, the stuff I’ve made doesn’t really have a template. A lot of my DIY projects were done in photoshop so unless the requester has the same version that I do, the file would be useless. In order for me to even send the file, I’d have to edit all of my personal information out of it which, depending on what we’re talking about, would basically leave a the whole thing blank. I had quite a few requests for my program template. I literally just typed up all of the information that I wanted to include and printed it out on the appropriate size paper. Anyone can figure that out themselves.

I’ll be the first to admit that I kind of ignore the template requests. If I answered each one, I’d spend hours sending emails explaining the same thing I did above. Besides, I’m not some DIY genius. If someone really wanted to replicate my creation, it would be easy enough to do without me basically doing the work for them.

I’ve never asked for any templates but the one DIY I posted I’ve sent everyone that requested a PDF version of my sign. But like CaitMarae I made mine in PhotoShop so while I sent the PDF file out to everyone I don’t know how helpful it’ll actually be.

when I was making stuff for the wedding i would just be inspired by the DIY board, I never downloaded or requested their templates but I did copy some ideas.

I got my Dollar Store escort card template from a Bee.  It worked out great!  Total cost for escort cards, $3 thanks to a creative Bee!

@UpstateCait: I totally agree with this.  While it is helpful if Bee’s share what fonts they used (and where they downloaded them, if they did so) and any other helpful tips (like spacing or font size)….it isn’t practical to share a personally designed Photoshop project because editing out personal information would leave it blank.

I have a playbill template I get a lot of requests for.  I have sent the template to every person that asked for it but sometimes people don’t read what program it was designed in and ask for me to convert it.

    Um no.

I always ask for templates and out of the 10 or so I requested, I got maybe 3. I wish the others would help a bride out. I feel it’s no fun to post something cool and not be able to help us out 🙁

I’m not sure why people don’t just post the files to begin with in the DIY section.  That said, I’ve gotten about 1/3 of my requests and very much appreciated them.
