    Hi all :)

I am pretty sure that I want to D.I.Y or maybe even purchase (depending on time/cost) from etsy/etc some reserved seating signs or cards for the pews of the church. I want to block off the first two rows for immediate family.

This was posted on weddingbee about a year ago and I love them but my wedding is in a church with wooden pews...so I won't be able to use this (the ribbon is meant for chairs)

Does anyone have good ideas for these? Did you make them for your pew seating? Did you buy them? Where? Or are you not having them?

    thanks bees!

All of our pews have to be decorated the same way as per the church's rules.  That's why we'll have ushers.

I created my own. They will just sit on the seats.

However a friend of mine used something similar to mine and she had her wedding in a church with pews, and she placed them on the ground next to the pew.  Maybe you could hang them over the side of the pew using the ribbon? so anyone entering on that pew knows.

@ccranetobe that is a good idea! I don't think I'm allowed to "stick" anything to the pew though....

@jojo I am having an usher but I still kind of want to do this...maybe not needed...I just want them Embarassed

I actually never thought about having signs saying the seats were reserved...what a great idea! But for the sake of time I think we are just having the ushers tell people where to go. haha

We didn't do reserved seating at all.  Our wedding was smaller and I think people understood that our families wanted to sit in the front.

Yes I am thinking of making little like 3 sided tent cards that say reserved kinda like this pic, but prettier and says "reserved"

we are only having 70 people at our wedding, but i really don't want to take the chance.  I will be DIY a reserved seating sign that i will place on the beginning of the first row only.

At the end of our temple aisles, it's a little tricky if the ribbon will stay up or fall all the way down - so we may just tape up the back of the ribbon and it'll hold that way.  That's for just one row on both sides that we'll need.  In the rows themselves, I need to have certain folks sitting in certain spots... I'm going to use double-sided tape to attach them to the chair (they fold up and are material, but I don't want to use push pins)...

i want to do this too! my church also has wooden pews but i'm thinking i'll hang the little "reserved" signs at the side aisle (just like the other pew decorations i think).

There is a little "ledge" created at the side of the pew so i can just hang ribbon and a few flowers and the reserved sign... no tape needed :) yay!

@krissybee is that your inspiration for your aisle decor? It is pretty! That is sort of what my pew looks like, what are you invisioning your reserved sign looking like? I am also having ribbbon and green leaf/branch type stuff on the ends...

@Sulli- it is! except i'd like the ribbon to be brown or maybe a taupe so they don't blend in too much with the wood. (the pews are a darker wood than the ones in the picture), and the flowers will be white. (not sure what flowers yet.. haven't gone to florist. if too $$$, then i may do white carnations)

so the pews (every 3 or 4 aisle) will have that arrangement, then i'm thinking the first 2 pews will have "reserved" signs. The signs will follow the look (fonts/colors) of all my other paper products (still need to be determined), but will be something along the lines of this pic.Maybe "reserved for bridal party" or something for the first pew, and just "reserved" for the second pew for our parents/ his grandparents / ...etc. Reserved Seating Signs? : wedding reserved Il Fullxfull.72803168

Less flowers will be used for the aisles with signs... and prob won't have an extra bow like in the pic .

sorry for the gigantor answer to a simple question Embarassed

    @krissybee I love the gigantor-answers ;) no worries!

I think I am going to ask my florist and see if she can attach some similar to the ones shown. I am just kind of at a loss for the best way to attach them...and I'm finding more and more reasons to have little "freak outs"...only 59 days to go!

Sorry, my seats allow me to easily tie on my reserved signs. I made them for both immediate families to make them feel special. Plus, we aren't having ushers.

If you have ushers, you don't really need them right? b/c they'd be seating people in the right spot?

If you don't have them, you can always do them - especially if you have a lot of reserved spots. Otherwise, I woudlnt' worry. No one (at least most) are not going to sit in the front couple of rows anyway. But def. don't do them if you have ushers, unless you want them for the photo op or something.
