It’s pretty dumb. Names can’t be stolen and it’s not the end of the world if two kids in the same family have the same name.

jessiebear85 :  it’s not a thing.

That being said, unless it was a name I already loved and felt strongly about before it was “called” I wouldn’t really care. If it was a family name on the other hand, I would not hesitate to use it.

It’s silly. You can’t claim a name, it just doesn’t work that way. And multiple people sharing the same name truly isn’t the end of the world!

It comes across as a bit selfish and arrogant but not a big deal as there are plenty of names out there. I personally wouldn’t want everyone to know my name choice in advance anyway.

No one owns the rights to a name.

jessiebear85 :  Lol I think it’s extremely silly. I never understood why it’s such a horrible thing for cousins to have the same first name. People who get wrapped up in such silliness crack me up lol

Honestly, I’m totally fine with this. I know a couple of names my brother really likes. I would feel like a jerk if I used any of them. There’s a million names out there it’s not a big deal to just pick a different one.

I think it’s dumb. My Fiance already have both a boy and girl named picked out (middle names too) but we haven’t told anyone our choices. If someone else in the family names their child that before we have a child it wouldn’t bother me. I would still stick with the original name that we decided on. Cousins can have the same name, it’s not that big of a deal.

I think it’s a sister thing.  I don’t have any.  No one in my family or my husbands would care what we named said children.  I’m pretty sure we have multiple Elizabeths and various forms of Elizabeth.  I was just asking my mom where her middle name came from, and she didn’t even know.  I was like lady, this is something you should know 😀

My sister did this and never used a single name she claimed. I never bothered with it.
