So my fiance and I originally got a three stone ring, but I’d like to reset the center stone into a solitaire setting.
All local jewelers are closed tomorrow (Sunday), but I’m curious to know how long the process would take to remove the center stone from my current ring and put it into a setting (that they presumably have).
Anyone else had this done? How long did it take?

It honestly depends on the jeweler. If the setting you want is in stock and the jeweler can set it right there it takes like 20 min. My setting had to be made to fit my stone so I waited a week for the setting to arrive then my jeweler simple reset it right in front of me. Another jeweler quoted me at 2 weeks for a reset and I personally wasn’t comfortable having my diamond out of my site that long.

Mine took 3 weeks. I also had a three stone and had it reset in a halo split shank.

Go to a local jeweler that does repair work on site. Mine was set within 15 minutes while I waited.

I had something reset last year at a local jeweler. Mine was a custom design and it took 3.5 weeks to complete. The jeweler was on site. I don’t choose jewelers who send out when it comes to important items, due to past bad experiences. For me it is worth the wait to know exactly who is handling my stuff. Good luck!

Mine took 2 days, not so bad.
