SO ordered an e ring two weeks ago that the sales lady said would be ready “in two weeks.” Well guess what- no word from the jewelery store. So I called to see if I could get a status update. I mean, it’s a pretty important thing in my life, and considering it’s worth a fair amount, you’d think they’d track it like nobody’s business. No such luck. The lady simple said “oh, so and so was out sick last week, so I don’t know if it got sent out.” I asked “there’s no way to find out the order status?” She answered, “No, but we’ll let you know when it comes in.”
Great, so we’re supposed to be just waiting around until the jewelry store calls until we can be ‘officially’ engaged? That’s BS. There HAS to be a way for them to find out the status. I blame commisions for the lack of information. The sales people are so focused on getting a sell at the counter, once the purchase is paid for they totally drop the ball. And I hate it.

Sizing does suck! mine took about 2 weeks for my ering. but i just bought my wedding band back in november, sraight from the counter and they have to resize it from a 6.5 to a four. they said it would be ready by the 21st which is just about a month after i bought it.

Wow I would be horrified if that happened to me! I hope you get your ring back safe and sound and I would not go back to that jeweler in the future.

@totheislnds: Makes me want to cry! Mine has to be sized down to a 4 as well. It was hard enough finding a ring that could be resized instead of special ordered, which I was told takes up to three months. Seriously?! Get it together? And a month for you band? Holy cow!

@DeathByDesign: Yes, once it finally comes in I’ll calm down and laugh at my anxiety, but, as a fellow ‘waiting bee’ you’ve got to understand just wanting it all done NOW. I’m glad it came with a band so this fiasco doesn’t have to be repeated.

Holy cow…really? I would get my butt into that jewelry store and demand to know where the heck my ring was! My ring was with them for a few days b/c they did the sizing right there, but I wouldn’t stand for them telling me they don’t know where my ring was that cost my SO a good amount of money!

Wow!! mine only took 3 days and I had my baby back! But it could be because i go to a small family owned jeweler…they also gave me the date and even the time my ring would be ready before I left the store when I dropped it off…yeah maybe you should find a new jeweler? Its not worth the stress to be wondering when your ring will be back!
ALSO…if someone was sick and your sizing was delayed…they should have picked up the phone and called you to let you know.

Mine took 4 hours… Where did you go?!?!? Maybe it is because Jared has an on-sitr jewler but still. It shouldn’t take two weeks. I bought my wedding band at Samuals Jewelers and they took a week because they were backlogged with a bunch of custom orders. Two weeks sounds a bit strange to me to begin with.

I would also go to the store and demand some info, I don’t care if so and so was out last week, thats bull.

Sheesh, our jeweller had mine back to me in less than a week.
