I had to change my entire wedding location (ceremony/reception) a month out from our wedding so I totally get the bummer! We ended up using a little dive bar DH and I go to see bands perform at. It just so happened they had built an outdoor stage and new patio area and the owner gave us full run of the whole place. I ended up loving it more than our original place.

It was nothing fancy, but we aren’t fancy people so it worked out just fine for us.

Try parks, museums, historic courthouses, and botanical gardens. They sometimes are much more flexible. I almost had my ceremony at an art museum, but we were concerned that the exhibits might be a little risque.

We had both our ceremony and our reception at a restaurant and it was awesome! We moved out to the patio for a cocktail hour while they flipped the room and it worked out so well–plus, the food was amazing!  I think it was perfect!  I’m sorry about your change of plans but sure hope it all works out for you — the space you are describing sounds really cool!

nearlyscottish :  That is going to be epic, trust me!  I can picture it.  Plus, so many of my guests said how much they loved having everything in one place – vs. having to move their cars between ceremony and reception locations. It just made for a nice, easy, fun day for everyone!

nearlyscottish :  I think this is going to be a blessing in disguise!  And I also think restaurant weddings are going to start being the new trend 🙂

Wanted to add one more thing.  And aisle runner can make all the difference in making a restaurant space feel more like a traditional ceremony space….highly recommend getting one!

nearlyscottish :  These aren’t my photos, we didn’t get pro pix, but we had it at a restaurant and I freakin’ LOVED it! We had our ceremony in this same room and then basically turned around to have a champagne toast, drinks, and order dinner! So intimate and wonderful.
