Do you think Calli's in Regent Square could handle it? Or maybe Gullifty's in Squirrel Hill and you could be seated upstairs? They're both family friendly.
the Pittsburgh Deli in Shadyside has an upstairs room that would be fun for a more informal but tasty family gathering.
there are also good spots along Highland and Ellsworth like Cafe Zinho and Enricos. In fact, Enciros is wonderful if they can seat you all.
Joe Mama's in Oakland has sections upstairs that can be reserved for parties. The food is yummy and the restaurant has an old diner-esque feel. http://www.joemamas.com/

My fiance's family is scattered all over the place, and our wedding has proven to be a good opportunity for a lot of them to travel to Pittsburgh. Our rehearsal dinner guest list is already set, but we're going to try to do a no-host family dinner on Thursday night. There will be around 20 people - 15 adults and 5 (10- to 15-year-old) children. Most of us are in Shadyside or Regent Square, but we're open to travel, if reasonable. Any suggestions? The restaurants we tend to frequent aren't really group-friendly, so we're at a bit of a loss.
