A baby sounds like a bad idea in a nightclub! Besides the “under 21” rule I can think only about the loud loud noises =(

You’ll find something!

I think it’s a little ridiculous to rule out a baby for a private party! It’s not like he/she is going to go up to the bar and order a drink!

Sorry wildstyle! Hope you find something that works soon!

Can you get a babysitter? Or under 21 friend or relatives that would watch the baby? Usually if there are no children allowed at weddings, theres a babysitter

Yeah, the baby wont drink but technically, if mom is drinking then breast feeds, its in her milk and baby gets it. I would try talking to mom about finding someone to watch the baby. Weddings aren’t very good for babies, she might have more fun, and it’s a bit silly to have to nix and ENTIRE venue for one baby. But, good luck!

I think you should try to convince her to get a babysitter. Honestly, you shouldn’t have to compromise your plans for ONE infant!

The only option for a babysitter that might appease your FSIL is if you had a room at the same place you have your reception or after party and you have a “hotel-approved” babysitter. I’ve worked in the hotel industry and they usually have people that are licensed, bonded, background-checked, etc. that they have on call for their guests. That way she could pop-in to the room every once in a while and check in on the baby.

@wildstyle: since your wedding is over a year away, how old would this baby be?  I know zero about babies, but I would think a baby in the range of a year old would be okay with a babysitter.  Especially one recommended by the hotel…
