Just go with the clear labels. No one cares about these things but us!
I ordered a stamp from Vistaprint during a freebie sale. Just sign up for their emails and within a few weeks you will see an ad for free rubber stamps. The great thing is that you can use it for other NWR things, like the cable bill!
i ordered address labels from vista print too. i think it was like $5 for a crap load of them, and like sboston said, they can be used for everything. i have them for thank you cards, etc.
I think you should go with the easiest, most economical option. Embossing is not really very difficult, but it can be a hassle and is definitely a more-than-nothing investment. I'd just put the clear labels on the back flap and then they won't take anything away from the rest of your invitation.
For full disclosure, I hand-wrote the return addresses on every single STD that I sent, and I splurged and had the printers put the return address on the envelopes. I don't think it was worth the splurge.

In an effort to save 50 cents per envelope on my invitations I decided that I would print the return address myself. That was all dandy until I started (trying) to print earlier this week. As in turns out, the envelopes are WAY too thick for my home or office printer.
I have a few options:
-Take them to a local print shop who estimated $50 to print on the back flap of my 120 envelopes. I'm not thrilled about spending the money and would rather use it elsewhere. But if this is the best thing, I'll go for it.
-Purchase all of the supplies and try my hand at embossing (note: I am not crafty beyond the use of a hot glue gun).
-Print clear labels to stick on the back. Definitely the easiest option and what I would prefer to do. I just don't want this to take away from our invitations.
Or if you have another idea, feel free to comment.
Thank you!
