Has anyone ever been posted onto a revenge site by an ex or other person who dislikes you? Just found out a couple days ago pictures that I had sent ONLY to my ex whom I dated for 2 years have been uploaded to a site called “The Dirty”, where the poster said I was “obsessed with myself”, ugly, “engaged but sleeping with half the city”, etc etc.
WTF. I talked to my ex who swears up and down it wasn’t him or his gf (who hates my guts for some reason), but I have no idea who else it could be. My fiance and I emailed the site with a very legal tone but they haven’t gotten removed yet.
Has this happened to anyone else? How did you deal? I’m graduating with a teaching degree next year so I absolutely cannot have this floating around the internet! Ahhh!

I don’t think this has happened to me. It sounds like a very immature thing to do. I’m sorry you are going through this. How did you find out your photos were on the site?

One of my sort-of friends was hanging out with my ex and they were told the site was amusing , so they checked it out. She emailed me right away to let me know about it. Sounds fishy to me that my ex knew about it but my friend and him swear up and down that it wasn’t him.

I didn’t even know this existed… omg. Hopefully neither does his ex…!

I bet your ex’s GF knows what’s up. Sounds very fishy to me.

Probably the ex and GF. It dosn’t matter though, don’t worry about it. Anybody in their right mind dosn’t go actively searching for people on those sites and takes it serious. It only makes the poster look like an immature twat.

My pic and phone number were posted on 4 chan bY ex. The mods took it down really quick but I got over 100 text messages from random people.

@imalittlebirdie: Ahh I’m really sorry, that sucks. At least they took it down right away.
The only thing that worries me is the fact that if you type in my name on google (they posted my full freaking name on the site) this is on like the 2nd page. I’m just stressing out hoping no one googles me before they take it down! :/
I think the ex’s gf did it, too. She’s very psychotic.

OP – I am so sorry that you’ve discovered something like this. It is very upsetting and it would be natural to feel violated. I hope the site does the right thing and takes the post down.
My ex (from summer before college) was like a friggin episode of law and order special victims unit. He went into chat rooms and gave out my name, phone number and address and said I had a rape fantasy. I got calls at all hours! Finally one of these creeps actually told me how my info got out. I moved and changed my number. He is truely evil… scum of the earth.

Wow that’s intense. The whole situation sounds sketchy to me. It sounds like something a crazy GF would do but that’s just my opinion. Either way I can’t believe I’m still amazed by the petty things people will do.
I’ve never had anything that extreme happen. I dated a guy for a couple of months about a week after I broke up with him I got in my car, turned on my favorite radio station, and started driving to work. About 30 minutes later a break in the music came on and the DJ said, “This next song goes out to SweetHoneyBee from DoucheBagEx. He knows you’re about to head into work and hopes this brightens your day. He knows how much you like it when you’re the center of attention.”
Then this song called “Your guts, I hate them” by Reel Big Fish came on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8gCt_i0Oq4

I was stalked and harassed both in person and online by an ex. I got so sick of it that I started documenting everything and submitting it to the police. It took so much effort on my end to get any kind of real help.
Those types of websites probably get a lot of legal emails and probably ignore them. Your best bet may be to contact the police or a legal professional.

I hate those sites, its petty and pathetic that people take the time to post things about other people expecially when it could really hurt them.

Did you fill out a “post removal” through the site?
Oh my gosh, that’s the worst! I personally haven’t been posted on thedirty, but I have a friend and an acquaintance (a girl who worked for me) who were and it was brutal. Did you see the guy from the site on dr. phil? I actually went to high school with the girl who is freaking out on him, saying that he ruined her life. Crazy shit!
You can email and ask that it be taken down but I dont’t know the procedure – good luck, and good luck finding out who did it so you can file a harassment complaint or something 🙂
