We had an 8 day honeymoon on the “Heaven” (adults only) side and it was lovely. All-inclusive, no tipping (although they didn’t exactly MIND if you did), with flight was $5100 from Los Angeles. Food was decent, but by day 5 I was over it…breakfast was always really good though. They tried to be very “gourmet”, but it never tasted that way. Was never impressed with any of the desserts and do not drink the wine. Oy.
Jacuzzi tub in the room was fabulous as was the Pillow Menu (yeah, that’s a real thing). Many a nap were had on our balcony’s hammock (wish it was a two-person though!)
Staff was nice and personable for the most part, although I did get food poinsoning from an outside excursion and my husband tried to find me an apple for an hour in the whole resort (because that’s all that sounded good) and no one could help him. (Funny, apples appeared the next morning at breakfast.) The customer service details aren’t quite in place….needs some fine tuning, especially on the phone. (There was a DVD player in our room and when we called asking about what movies there were, we were told they had 2 – “Ocean’s 11” and “Tower Heist”. And that was it. Ummmmm…..)
The beaches and water were incredible and clean. No beach waves to deal with as the beaches on-site are more like lagoons, but it was totally decadent. Comfy cabanas, waiters bringing drinks as often as you like, and plenty of sun.
Massages from the spa were awesome – didn’t get any other services from there. The Rock Shots (photography session at the resort) was TOP NOTCH and a MUST! Gustavo, the photographer from Chile, was so impressive. We wanted to buy all of the images!
There is still construction going on on the “Heaven” side so there’s one beach we didn’t use because of the noise, but I think in about 6 months this resort will be what it SHOULD BE. Oh! The club just opened while we were there and was a lot of fun – definitely for the younger crowd, but had the vibe of a Vegas club.
