oh well, the pre alterations pics won't load. so just model and wedding day. but you get the point.
btw - if someone really wants me to load the pre-alterations pics, i will.
It looked great! and you are just as gorgeous if not more than that model! even though i will not need the review, it will be helpful to others!
Wow, you look gorgeous! Glad to hear everything turned out so well!
you look beautiful! Im glad it worked out for you!!
You looked great! What are you doing on the stairs? Hopping?
JoJo - haha, I was practicing walking down the stairs..I think when I didn't trip I did a funny thumbs up squat. Man, I don't know. I was crazy giddy all day. I acted like an 8 yr old w/ ADD. No joke
YOu look beautiful!!!! The back of your dress looks a lot like the back of mine!
Thank you for your detailed review! I am so relieved to be reading these great comments about bridaldress4u. I am seriously considering ordering one. The one I want is also a mermaid. I fully understand that I will have to have further alterations. I want it to fit like a glove. I was wondering about the structure of the dress. Did it have boning, built in corset, or elastic bands like the designers' dresses? Or did you have those put in later? I am concerned about the quality, about different styles looking closer to the original than others.
leah - that's a sexy dress! i was completely happy with the materials, they looked just like the real JH dress. my dress had cups and an elastic band under my chest. i had boning added during alterations. good luck!
I have another question. Did you send them extensive measurements? Or the usual waist, hips, bust. I was wondering if I should send torso length, upper bust, below bust? I've seen other online dress shops that ask for these measurements.
That's terrific I'm sure a lot of bees are worried about ordering online, but this review is very helpful and you looked gorgeous- way better on the wallet too!
Leah- they asked for maybe 5 measurements. I gave a few extra and they said that they would use them. Who knows though b/c when my dress came, it was too big and required alterations anywhere. It doesn't hurt to send extra measurements...takes a little effort on your part and could potentially have a big payoff. I hope it works for you!
Thanks so much, you've been a huge help! Your dress is so beautiful, I hope eBay wedding dress story goes as well as yours.

Hi guys!
I realized that I haven't reviewed my dress vendor. Miss Lab used the same people - bridal_dress_4_u on ebay. I spent hours and hours looking for reviews of these guys, so I really should do a post.
I spent $750 plus 70 shipping I think for the dress. The bolero was $130 and the veil $110. I ordered the bolero/veil after the dress because I wanted to ensure that I liked the quality of the dress first.
I tried on the real Jim Hjelm dress (8761) and loved it, but didn't want to spend $4G on it. So, I turned to ebay. I was so nervous about buying my wedding dress on ebay, so I messaged all kinds of reviewers for the store before I bought it. This made me feel a lot better about the purchase.
Some things:
1. My concern when emailing random ppl was, do they have the same high standards that I have? I didn't want a cheap-looking dress and was super freaked out that it wouldn't meet my expectations.
2. It came and I love it. I really think the quality is great and I can't tell the difference from the real JH dress (from what I remember - photos weren't allowed at the salon where I tried it).
3. I sent in my measurements to have it made for my shape. It was much too big, however, like at least 1 or 2 inches everywhere. So I spent $225 on alterations (boning, taking it in, and bustle). But maybe my alterations were more expensive b/c I live in downtown Chicago. I do think that the mermaid shape is hard to fit perfectly without the actual body to alter it to. Mine turned out perfectly after alterations. I looooved wearing it on my wedding day.
4. The seamstress that altered my dress said that it was well made, good material etc. So, that's definitely reassuring.
5. Christina is the contact person for bridal_dress. I emailed w/ her a lot before buying my dress. She sent pics of other dresses that they have done, pics of materials and was overall very helpful.
6. I also had them make a bolero and veil for me. It was perfect b/c all of the lace matched. I am so, so happy with the results.
I'm going to try uploading photos...I generally suck at this.
The order...
first - sexy model
second - me without it altered from two angles
third - wedding day (friend photos - don't have the pro photos back)
