Hey there! I want to do ribbon wands too! Are you ordering yours, or DIYing them? I am trying to decide... If you did DIY them, do you have any tips?? :)
Well, what if you just had your mom and fam spread the word? Or you could ask the groomsmen to give hints and tips as they escort your guests to their seats??
But a sign... hmmm... what would it say? This sign from etsy seller pebblescatto is cute!!

Ooh cute! Thanks! We DIYed them. We couldn't find packs of dowel rods so we had to cut them ourselves from 48" rods. Turns out an electric knife works great! Then, FI drilled a little hole in the top and we screwed in a little eye screw thingie and tied a couple of bells to that so we have jinglies too! We hot glued the ribbons to the stick. It really wasn't that hard and they turned out cute!
Thanks! Where does one get an electric knife? And how in the world did your FI drill a tiny hole without breaking the dowel?
Thanks for posting this! I am making mine now and I have a related question... I am wondering whether guests will take one if I just put out a basket with a sign next to it, or if I should put one on each chair with instructions attached on a little card? Or do I have our escorts hand them out? Our ceremony is outside so I can see guests missing the table with the basket on it when finding their seat...
If anyone else who has done this before could share how they did it, I would love to know!
Here's a blog post by Cinnamon Buns detailing her process... http://www.weddingbee.com/2010/11/30/printing-on-ribbon/

I know there are some creative and witty ladies on here and I hope you're post-a-thoning!
We're doing ribbon wands for our exit and my mom says we have to provide instructions because my aunts and uncles are "old and senile" (these people are all only a few years older than her, but whatever) and she's afraid they will just think they hit each other with them. This is my family. Anywho, what's something cute I could put on a little sign in front of them besides... "Ummmm, you wave them."
