NO WAY!!! I literally just started a thread about this the other day on Pricescope!
It all started for me after looking through my "Wedding Pics" saved on my computer and finding a picture of this band that I had saved a while back:
I really liked it, but I had no idea where it was from, so I asked people to help me find similar styles. They came up with this one:

And then I found that Kwiat band myself!! I love it!! I just worry that it is a little too wide, and would cover too much of my finger along with my e-ring. I have itty-bitty fingers... So I am on the hunt for a similar three-strand braided band that is a little bit closer-knit, know what I mean? But I am also VERY interested to see if anyone has a band like this as part of their set!
This is my engagement ring, which my fiance got at a local jeweler. It has the braided band with a princess cut diamond. I haven't gone to get the wedding band yet, but the wedding band is the same braided band as my engagement ring. I can't wait until I wear them together!

I have a knife edge tapered engagement similar to the one below (my was custom but based on this Kwiat ring. Mine tapers more severly into the basket and has a larger 2ct radiant center. Someday I'll figure out how to take a good photo and post it...).
Because nothing will ever lay flush against it, I've been looking at options to embrace the gap and have FALLEN IN LOVE with the further below Kwiat band (Tacori makes a similar 2-strand version). Does anyone have a similar style band shown with a soltaire ering? I'd love to see how they work together since I'd rather wear them that way and not move my ering to my right hand.
