I thought I'd share some of my favorite RSVPs so far:

1 couple asking for the steak to be cooked to medium

2 guests asking for 2 meals EACH.

1 couple that thought the RSVP was for the rehearsal dinner

1 family friend that named his live in boyfriend as a guest with the name of "friend"

Did anyone else get RSVPs that either made you laugh or shake your head?

PS, I used Mrs. Lemon's template, so I don't think I was being confusing in my RSVP card!!

    Wow! Those are hilarious!

2 meals each, though?! Umm, are they going to write a check for those meals?! lol

One of my BM also wrote 'Guest'  for the name of her date.  I called her and was like can you tell me how to spell his last name or should I just put 'Guest' on his place card.

We also got sealife drawn on (never got an explanation for that one, it's not like anyone had a last name of fisher or anything) but no name on the RSVP and mailed back.  We figured out who it was by the post mark, guess we should have numbered them.

    LOL those are crazy.

I've had 2 ridiculous ones so far.

-- We used the wording "We have reserved ___ seats in your honor"... my Dad's friend added his own wording by writing in "+2 children"

-- My aunt RSVPd for herself and for her sister (my other aunt to whom I had sent an invitation and already received a DECLINE from... wth??)

Oh yeah, I've received ones where we reserved 2 seats, and only get one name.  Does that mean you're not bringing anyone?  Must I call/text you to find out the name of your guest?  Grrrrrr Yell

2 meals??!!  I would flip.  Are they football players or something? haha

There were 3 people who crossed out the "M", that was to be used for Mr., Miss, Mrs., Ms., and wrote their name.

My cousin, whose name is Megan, used the "M" and just wrote "egan".

My FI's uncle didn't right in their names and just wrote "me love steak" on one line and "she love steak too" on the other.

    Wow..this is nuts.

I can't wait to see this stuff happen!

That is just insane..that couple asking for 2 dinners each.

I would personally give them a call over that one.  I mean, if others see them eating two meals, they'd feel slighted.

What the heck is up with the two dinners each couple?  Are you a free for all?  Is your wedding their night out?  I believe in treating guests very well, but not for making one guest feel more entitled than another.  Equality in treating guests well.

Haha, well they requested one meat and one vegetarian option each.  I'm just giving them the meat option.  I think they thought to themselves "of course I want vegetables with my meat."

Funny enough, 2 of these responses are from my bridesmaids and what they put describes their personalities SO well.  (and both bridesmaids are married....both within the last 3 years. Neither of them requested 2 meals.)

I'm just amused if nothing else.  I was a little annoyed at first, but now I just think it's funny.

i was helping my sister keep track of her RSVPs and one guests doodled all over the card and set it back.  no name, just doodles (funny enough, we knew exactly who it was!!)

we had another that requested a meal that wasnt even an option.  we had filet, halibut and vegitarian.  the guest requested pasta with fresh tomatoes and fresh basil.  wth?

ClairDarling, I've gotten a couple doodle-but-no-name RSVPs myself.

another, where i sent out and RSVP that said

"I will be bringing 1 guest. Name of guest:______________" and received a RSVP card where the attendee crammed in his wife and kid's name. ENNNNNNH!

WOW! I really hope I dont have to deal with that but I am sure I will. My aunt will try and take other people favors, I'm sure. She will also try and invite whomever she wants and she will probably ask if she can take the leftovers home. lol.  The two meal request would offend me. Do they know how much it is per head?  WOW! Thats all I can say. The M_egan is too cute. That is funny!

Oh god, these are just too funny. You should make a comprehensive list of the craziest RSVPs ever and make a website. I would read it :)

OMG I am laughing about M_egan.  Ha!

Also the two meals.  Were you surpised by those guests or are they always greedy? Tongue out

I had one sent back to me with no names and no indication of the RSVP.  In other words, they just popped the card back in the mail without writing a thing on it!  Luckily, I had numbered them so I knew who it was (my friend with three kids and one on the way, so I forgive her!).

@ClairDarling - The guest who requested a meal that wasn't an option is the FUNNIEST thing I've heard in a long time.  FH thinks I'm insane because I'm watching a pretty intense episode of West Wing and laughing hysterically.  :P

I didn't get weird ones on my RSVP but we didn't give them many options. But when I sent a form to fill out (google docs) to get addreses and stuff and then also asked if they had food allergies or special needs (ie vegetarian or religious stuff) and one guest requested a specific meal!!!!!!!!

Okay, these responses are AWESOME and I hope I get a few wacky ones to make me laugh too.  M_egan, requesting two meals, requesting a meal that wasn't offered, returning a card with only doodles...what the heck?  People are funny.

2 meals? Wow, that means you get to pick! How considerate of them! ;)

I picked dinners for people who didn't send in rsvps but told our parents they were coming (but not what they were eating). Hope they liked them, but actually, don't care. :)

M_egan. Ahhh that's brilliant. And I can't believe someone requested pasta with fresh tomatoes and basil, that's awesome! I put a "please leave us a note" section on our RSVPs, I can hardly wait to see what comes back on it now!! LOL!

    Still laughing about M_egan....

We just sent ours out and I am SOO curious how they are coming back.

Do people realize how expensive 2 meals per person would be!  At $30 pp or so that would increase the price for that couple from $60 to $120!

I wonder if the people who were so very specific in meals have a specific allergy that they are avoiding...  I have a friend who has severe allergies to numerous foods.  (Literally, she can't eat most common meals because of her allergies...)  The guest that responded with his wife and child's name should have been invited with his wife... not by himself so I didn't get that one... in addition the name line often doesn't have room for everyone replying if you are replying by family... so I'm not sure why it would seem funny that they crammed their name on a line...

omg!!  why do these responses not surprise me in the least??  it makes me wish we had done traditional response cards, but we're using our websites RSVP feature for that.... and the 2 meals each??  did they really think they were specifying what they wanted for their entrees and sides??  people are not smart these days, i swear.  and M_egan?? HAHHAHAHAHA wow.  what, did she think that you included everyones first initial on the response card?  and people crossing that out?  honestly, people need to get a clue.

I was irritated by an RSVP card I received with NO name on it, no return address on the envelope but they clearly marked No. So I am like are you embarrassed to say no, or what? Because it did no good to send me an RSVP without any clue of who this person is!

    That made me soooo mad!

omg!  my cousin Melissa used the M for "M_elissa" too!!!  When I read the M-egan thing I was like hmm that sounds familiar, so I flipped through and there it was!  I wonder if they thought we changed the first letter for each person's RSVP! lol

more than anything, i just cant understand how the general populace has such terrible etiquette that they do this stuff with out even blining an eye!!

at my sisters wedding, we ended up have her mother in laws friend (a woman she worked with) show up from out of state with her father and her 7 year old son to a no-kids wedding.  she rsvp'd for neither of them, and there was assigned seating so her table of 9 was then a table of 11. whaaaattt???

I have a good one too...

Instead of choosing our options of "Beef" or "Chicken", one of my great aunts drew a line under those choices and wrote "Fish" and checked that!
