Mine might just be an Anne Barge dress. No specific model... but her dresses are to die for
I got my ridiculously gorgeous and too expensive dress by cutting back in a few other areas. Definitely look for it more affordably, though! If there's anything the past few days of posts have taught us, it's that persistence really pays off!!
Belle, I could totally see you rocking that dress. It's SO you.
I think I'd maybe go with an Anne Barge Melissa Sweet or Carolina Herrera. Maybe this one?

Oh goodness. That Priscilla of Boston dress is amazing! I love the way it swirls when the model walks!
When I was looking for dresses, I loooooooooooved an Anne Barge dress - it just made me think of Grecian goddesses. It was so beautiful and flattering...but way out of my price range and I couldn't justify it, especially since it was my first day dress shopping and I thought I could find something else. I still wonder if I should have figured out a way to get it! My whole wedding probably would have been different!
For some reason I have a THING for Tomasina gowns....no holds barred, I'd get the gown on their website HP: http://www.tomasina.com
The lace is EXQUISITE. I believe it was priced at $12K - at least 6 years ago. Who knows what it would cost now....
Le sigh!
Ooooh. Me likey. I also heart the dress above with the silvery cardigan. And the eco chic dress with the rosettes at the bottom!
**bashfully raises hand**
I couldn't help myself and I bought my dream dress!! Yes, it's ridiculously gorgeous and way too expensive, but I'm so in love with it I can barely take it. I have love dreams about it!! It was way out of my budget but worth every single cent. And I get to wear it in less than 2 weeks!!
Oscar de la Renta really does it for me! His satin fabric is heavenly, and the guipure lace is truly exquisite, one of the best in the world. Plus, if you're looking for a dress with a defined bodice, the proportions are perfect! I would have loved to have had one of his lace dresses for my wedding gown, but there is no way I could ever swing 13k on the dress. It's a rare thing to find a dream ODLR discounted online...hey, do real people ever win those Knot contests, etc?
Archibee,
Yes you do win contest at theknot.com
Thats where I won my Carolina Herrera Gown
My Anne Barge dress arrived today, 6 weeks early! I'm so excited to see it again. Anne was there when I tried on the dress, and we made a slight modification to the neckline, which I hope turned out amazing. I also hope I am surprised by the addition of pockets. I heart pockets. Relatively speaking, I did not think the dress was so expensive. The belt, on the other hand, makes my jaw drop still. Before I tried this dress on, I tried on a Vera Wang dress that was crazy ridiculously expensive that would only look good on half a toothpick or a hanger.
I saw this dress on Say Yes to the Dress- it is a more expensive (and much more quality) version of mine. I heart it. I'm definitely a big princess dress kind of girl.
This is the first dress that really caught my eye and I would still trade mine for it in a heartbeat. I love it. I try to not thing about it too much and yet I still have this pictures on my computer...
It's by White Chocolate Label. The website seems to be down though.
The moment I saw this dress, my heart stopped. *SIGH* Totally only in my dreams. It's like 10k!!
I absolutely love Pnina Tornai as well!!! There at 3 of her dresses that stick out to me right now but the one I LOVE the most is ...
I believe it is somewhere around 11K, so it is out of the picture! I also love anything by Lazaro.
Vera Wang Audrey!!! Love this baby but too bad it's 12k.

(sorry, cant figure how to post pix)
I'm going to have to go with Monique Lhuillier, Swan Lake. It's just so classic and I love every single part of it.

Swooooon.
Have to confess, I'm in the crowd that got the expensive dream dress as well, but I plan on selling it afterwards! I looooooove Carolina Herrera.
these are all so gorgeous. i especially love bellenga's, jessie's, mrst2be, and...oh, i love them all!! and msomally, that dress is stunning...can't wait to see your pics! i am so coveting a luillier, but way out of my price range. i will see if they have it at the january luillier sale in cali. i also saw this bridesmaid dress from smp (the bride wore lhuillier---which was gorgeous----so i think the maids' dresses were lhuillier also). i loved the bridesmaid dress (this was the malibu wedding and the dress was the ruffle tiered colorful confection). i would love to wear that at the reception. even tho it's not white, i know no other guest would have it. i wonder if i can get a seamstress to make it for me.
I got my dream dress this past Saturday
It's an Oscar de La Renta and I could have bought a car with the money, but oh well! After I tried it on, nothing else compared!
@ladybuglove - Thank you!! :) That made my day. Our photographer has some pics ready...some of my pictures are posted on my blog and there's a link to her site there too. More to come and I can't wait!
@Babilu - LOVE love LOVE your dress! I tried on a couple Oscars and they're fabulous! Great pick!
missomally: just saw the pics on your blog......Oh.My.God!!! you're wedding looked so amazingly fabulous. and, you totally owned that dress!!! whatever the cost...it was priceless. you looked absolutely beautiful! you and your hubby look so super happy!! thank you for sharing.
Oh this post is wonderful and depressing at the same time. Mine is a Monique Lhuillier and it cost like 10K+
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
Well I don't know how much the dress is, but it is my absolute favorite.
Maggie Sottero "Brielle" That kind of southern belle style. Love it in the
Missomally: Thanks! =)
kittyachi: I actually tried that dress! It was just under $10K
nope, like $9, something. It didn't include the bolero jacket...I guess that's another $1000 or more.
Missomally- did that bolero come with that gown? It's beautiful! Is it dotted swiss or are those pearl details? I can't quite make it out.

I swooned today at the nail salon. My manicurist (she's been doing my nails for some time now) brought me the latest issue (they've subscribed to my fave wedding mags just for me) of Elegant Bride...and in it was a black and white photo shoot and there was this hotter than hades gown by Pnini Tornai..yea, my dream dress is now almost 8K!
What would be your dream gown (we're talking 5k and up folks)?
Here's my style...and I will either hunt this one down (maybe on consignment) or find a way to find one very very similar...this is ME to a T!
Tell me about yours..the ridiculously gorgeous and yet too expensive dream dress in your head?
