my FI-to-be has offered me that I could design a ring and he would get it made for me. At first I thought that was so sweet, but now I realise how much easier he has made the job for him. Mostly because I’m somewhat fussy and VERY undecisive.
So far I have decided that a halo ring in rose gold will be the base. But as far as stone is concerned I am really not sure. Ever since I was a child I was fascinated with gemstones, and initially I thought why spend money on a diamond like everyone else has when there’s such a variety of stones. I’ve been contemplating on light pink sapphire, morganite and even ametrine (bi-coloured quartz in yellow-purple).
That was until we had lunch at his parents this Christmas and I saw his mum wearing her diamond ring. And suddenly the whole fascination made sense. I must have been a magpie in my past life, but the sparkle had me from hello.
Now I am trying to find a compromise between the soft light pink stones I originally wanted and the sparkle of a diamond. The gemstones are mostly glass-like with not much fire to them, whereas Asha (which would be the stone of choice if I should pick the diamond look as I really don’t see the point in spending 5 digit amounts on a 5-6mm pebel) looks pretty nice but screams FAKE in your face in the barely pink shade you can find.
Do you have any suggestions for sparkly light pink stones I could use for the ring?
