I was just wondering what your opinions were.. my boyfriend and I discussed getting engaged a year ago and went out and chose a diamond and designed a ring.. after that it became apparent that he had hoped that would be enough for me ‘for the time being’ and that he would be able to have the time he needed to ‘do it right’.
But now, after all the discussions and expected dates that have arisen inbetween, the ring began to not feel special anymore but something negative….. we have worked through this and acknowledge that we were at different stages a year ago and it probably wasn’t the best idea to have done things the way that we did.
But, now we ARE on the same page and things have been wonderful and we both want things to go the way that they are.. but after visiting this board and getting my fill of rings I am suddenly thinking maybe we should change the diamond.. it is a 0.6 and excellent quality, but maybe if we went for a F not an E and a VS2/SI1 not a VS1 we could get a bigger diamond to make it seem different to this one that has been ‘hanging there’?? Does that make sense?? I don’t really want to change the setting because we both had a lot of input in that and I love it…… maybe just an extra special wedding band would be enough, I dont know, what are your thoughts???
