This has been bugging me like crazy for like 2 days and I need your honest opinions on if I have a right to be a little frustrated. So bf designs jewelry and is in his Masters. He’s known the design for about 5 months, and he’s had the center stone for a few months now. He started the official 3D design last week, but told me that he was only 25% done with it.
What’s annoying is during winter time, with finals, holidays, and still working, he managed to make wedding band PLUS engagement rings for his 2 friends AND their girlfriends. That’s 6 rings total. He was part of the design, went around downtown to the casting and everything. He did 6 rings with all the same stuff he’s doing now. So why the hell is our ring not as important???
I’m so mad but can’t tell him! I know how hard he works, and I always tell him how proud I am of him. He’s looking for a new job, and while it’s not consuming his time, he also is doing that. It’s just annoying to know that he did six rings that weren’t his in about 2 months and he can’t even do the one he’s gonna propose with. Do I have a right to be upset, or am I being a brat?

He probably wants to make sure its perfect. Or maybe he’s trying to throw you off and he already has it done.

I’m going to say both…I would probably be upset too, but from an outside perspective, maybe it’s that your ring is MORE not less important and he is taking more time because he wants it to be perfect? Also: it’s so cool your SO makes jewelry!

@crosscountry09: I’d be really upset but I’d be trying to remind myself that he probably wanted it to be perfect! And its alot different when designing something because you can see all the flaws no one else would notice so with his friends’ rings he probably just did what they said and didn’t worry about it too much.

I hope you guys are right. I’m really not ungrateful. I respect him so much for all he does. I love him very much and we’ve supported each other through a lot of stuff, so I guess it’s just the anticipation that’s getting to me.
@crosscountry09: Thanks! It is pretty cool, he’s very talented. He made me a cross for my 21st, and it has like all these little secret qualities to it. Very proud of him 🙂
