TooPickyGoingCrazy:  I must be missing something because if you had it custom made it should be exactly what you wanted. Did the jewelry show you CADs or drawings??

Well guess if you have to go back , might as well since he fell on his end of what you wanted . 🙂

I feel your pain on obsessive ring designs! I am designing my future fiancee’s ring and I think I send the jeweller an email every other day asking a question or wanting to tweak something.

That being said, this is a ring you’re going to wear for the rest of your life. It doesn’t have to be perfect (and when is anything ever really “perfect”, anyway), but I still think you should love it.

Could you go back to the first ring and just get the sapphire replaced with a new stone? All the rings are beautiful, but that blue stone REALLY looked great one you (imo).

TooPickyGoingCrazy:  oh wow 🙁 who is your jeweler?? Your ring looks nothing like the inspiration it looks like it’s made from a cheap generic cast. He must not be very skilled I’m so sorry you had to go through such a long process to not get what you wanted. I would take it back and just ask for a refund all together. he will have to completely re make the ring to get it right. Go somewhere and pick out a stock setting that you love. Shand co has hundreds you can choose from.

TooPickyGoingCrazy:  While I actully really like the ring the jeweller made, you’re right that it doesn’t really look like the ring you used as inspiration. The band is pretty, but definitely not as dainty as the inspiration ring. I like it, but then, it’s not my ring. Maybe ask your fiance to take over the redesign process? He can advocate for you, but from a less emotionally-involved place. I’m glad that I’m not designing my own ring because I think I would go crazy!

TooPickyGoingCrazy:  It sounds like you thought they would be coming with claw prongs, so I would just send it back to have that fixed. As far as the other stuff, I think you should let it go. There will always be something else you can change about your ring. It has to end somewhere.
