Hi bees! When I got engaged, my fiance gave me a beautiful engagement ring. Due to the shape, I would need to get a wedding band custom made in platinum. Since this would cost $2000 or more, I have decided that I would rather put that money towards the wedding, honeymoon, or building our new house. My FI already mentioned giving me an enternity band for a special anniversary.
I am now just confused on what to do during our ceremony. Should I use my engagement ring or buy a cheaper stand-in wedding band? Typically I wear my engagement ring every day. However, it would be nice to have a stand-in ring for times that I do not wear my engagement ring (traveling, the beach, etc…). What do you think? Anyone have suggestions?

can you show what shape your ring is now?

You can definitely find a cheaper ring to wear everyday. Department stores have tons of sales, especially now since Valentine’s Day is coming up.

I would definitely use your engagement ring during the ceremony. There are other people who only wear 1 ring also.

Personally I would purchase an inexpensive band like this one:
and wear it on my left hand, moving my ering to the right until I had the funds for the custom band, or reveived the anniversary ring.
If you prefer to keep wearing the ering alone on your left hand, it’s still nice to have a plain band to wear when your ering is not convenient to wear (cleaning, beach, etc…)

I think it would be nice if you had a plain gold band that you can wear. When you get the band of your dreams, pair them together and move the wedding band to your right hand. You will always have a special love of your e-ring, the wedding band will hold a place in your heart and when the time is right, you can cherish the new ring.

I would use my E-ring in your case!

i say to use your e-ring. my coworker wears hers as her wedding band (so she only has 1 ring). a lot of women do that.

Thanks for your responses! My ring is a really low-set oval, so another ring will not sit flush against the ring. Therefore, I would probably wear my engagement ring by itself unless I was cleaning, traveling, etc…
My ering has sentimental value to me now, but I am just debating whether I want to use a stand-in during the ceremony.
Here is a pic!
@MissNoodles: I do like the idea of a plain gold stand-in ring! Thanks for the website.
