I'm going to get engraved on his ring "I love thee"
His will say "Semper Fidelis" - It translates to Always Faithful, is the Marine Corps motto and is, I think, very marriage appropriate.
I had planned on putting the latitude and longitude coordinates of the dog park where we met but my mom thinks that it might not fit inside the ring (so probably putting that on the back of the watch i'm giving him for the wedding)
my next idea was 'my love' in Danish since he is Danish...its actually really pretty: min elskede
I have no idea what I'll put in his. My wedding band won't be able to be engraved because of the way the diamonds are set. My engagement ring is engraved, though. My "married" initials. :p
Well, one line of our nanos reads: iSwimiBikeiRuniPod, so we're thinking about iSwimiBikeiRuniDo and the date.
Ours just have our initials and wedding date, but we wanted them to say "Yes I said yes I will Yes" which is the last line in Joyce's Ulysses, and the line he wrote in the card he proposed with. Too many letters though...
My favorite line ever: "Put it back on!"
I don't know what we'll do though... I haven't really thought too much about it. He loses everything so I'm guessing we'll have to buy a new one for our second anniversary lol.
I don't think we'll be engraving mine - both the e-ring and band have pretty thin bands, and I'm thinking for his we may be getting it from an etsy seller who will put our fingerprints on the inside instead of engraving anything. I think it's a really cool alternative, and it means I don't have to come up with anything to engrave! Win!
On my guy's management ring it says "together we face the world".
I'm thinking about "let's never stop, please"
I wrote FI a lame haiku when we first started dating and that was the last line. We say it to each other sometimes. Is that too long though?
hubby isn't getting his engraved, but mine will have an engraving on the side like this:
Ani l'dodi v'dodi li = I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine.
It's more meaningful to me, part of who I am, he is not Jewish so it doesn't really have any meaning to him.
My engagement ring says our anniversary date - forever. his wedding band will probably say cheese to my whine or i'll love you always in italian. he jokes that mine is going to say put it back on but he's keeping it a secret lol :P
I am going to engrave his ring with J T'A. It is our little short way to say Je t'aime. We write it to each other in texts and messages.
I wear my great grandmother's ring on my other hand, and it is engraved with my great grandfather's initials and their wedding date. According to my grandmother, it was customary (in Germany in 1941) to engrave her initials in his and vice versa. The mister and I haven't yet decided about our own, but I like that idea.
This is such a great thread, I have been looking for something to engrave on my FI wedding band. I will definatley be following
my FI has no idea about engraving inside the wedding bands. i guess it's a good thing for him bc my bands are too thin anyway. but as for his ring i'm putting "Good Lovin". the mushy stuff doesnt really suit us and its something we've said to each other for many years when we wanted to cuddle or "ahem". he started with "come here girl gimme some good lovin" or "where's that good lovin". i think i settled on that it was a toss up between "good lovin" and something else kinda dirty so i think i'll save that for something else!
if youve seen the pixar disney movie "UP!" im thinking of engraving the phrase "Adventure Awaits"
we didnt want engraving now but we're getting it for free causeour rings are taking forever to come in =]
Spouse's birthday (his will have mine and mine will have his!) and wedding date - I once had a coworker who checked frequently - said he'd never missed a birthday or anniversary!
ps - I love the "put it back on!"
my band is really thin, so it can't fit much.
we're just doing our first initials with each other's first.
his: J + I
mine: I + J
We both have A+M 31.07.2010 on ours... The date was his idea - 'So that I don't have the excuse to forget our anniversary!'
il have his grandmothers ring which he has gotten engraved,it says
"always & forever"
we say it everyday...
he told me i have my own ring too...but what it says will be a surprise:) i cant believe he baught me a new ring, id be more than happy with his grandma's ring since i know how special it is to him...but hey, i wont complain:P
i have no idea what to put on his though..
any ideas??
I'm putting 'My Honey' inside my guy's band. Mine won't be engraved.

Ours both say "dream a dream with you" which is from one of our favorite songs, California Stars. He introduced me to the song just before we began dating.
Mine will say Infinity and his will say 888. 8 is an infitnite number and he always texts "I love you forever, infinity 888". 888 was also part of my user name where we met online. Butterfly888
