lemonlyman:  I really love the engraved ring, but I think the 3 stone would look better with the band you’ve chosen, just because I think engraved erings with engraved bands can be a bit “much”.

My ering is engraved and I love it, the metal shimmers!

lemonlyman: are you in the Bay Area? can you stop by their showroom?

I’ve been to their SF showroom and the 3 stone looks odd irl. I voted for that though because I love 3 stone rings, just in a different proportion.

I’m a solitaire gal so that’s what I voted for.  I don’t think that particular set would be too much – I imagine it would be more delicate in person.

    mrsmay07:  Love your solitaire!

lemonlyman:  i have a three stone ring. the specs are 1.30 carat center stone with two side stones .34ct each on a size 6 finger. i love the engraved wedding band and i am leaning towards more of an elaborate wb instead of the matching one that comes with this ring

lemonlyman: the centre stone looked like it was added as an afterthought. I personally prefer three stones where the size difference isn’t so marked. I want all three stones to seem like they belong instead of an is it a peekaboo or is it not? in your photo the side stones look like it could go either way. Not enough presence to make it worth it.

Also the prongs are too big for the sidestones

lemonlyman:  personally not at all. but i love the three stone look. i am a bit a-type on symmetry and i find the two stones really balance the center stone. the only thing i need to be a bit careful of is my wedding ring cannot be TOO elaborate as i feel it MIGHT take away from the side stones and perhaps start competing with the center stone. if you really have your heart set on that wedding band – which IS beautiful!!!! – then perhaps a center stone with no side stones and no engraving would really compliment it and remove the competition factor. but go to a jewlery store and try the styles similar to what you want to buy, take pictures and then you’ll get a good sense on what you really love 🙂 good luck

lemonlyman:  I love the 3 stone ring on the plain band! I think it looks gorgeous with the engraved wedding band.  I have a similar e-ring (except I have 4 diamonds on either side of my center stone)and I too have engraved wedding bands to go along with it. I don’t feel like any of the side diamonds compete with the center stone at all. I also have some diamonds on my engraved wedding bands and I don’t think they take away from my center stone either.

    ScubaSiren:  Gorgeous ring!

mrsmay07:  I prefer the plain band, so I voted for the one with the side stones!

ETA: They are both really gorgeous, though!

I went from solitaire to 3 stone (was never really happy with the solitaire), and I have been a happy camper ever since I made the change. 🙂 However, I would recommend trying both styles on and seeing what *feels* best – I was surprised that so many things I loved in pictures didn’t impress in real life at all.

    Here’s a pic of mine, it’s a .64 center and .28 sides in a plat trellis setting:
