@liliwo2016:  Does your fiance rent or own? Can you put it on his? I dont have any other ideas, as I put mine on my renter’s insurance.

You should be able to get a policy with the same company you’ve been using– even if you’re between places, it’s not a bad idea to keep renter’s insurance current.  It’s basically for your posessions, not the structure anyway, so even if your stuff is in a storage unit, it’s usually covered if it’s damabed by a flood or fire or something.

Personally, Farmer’s or State Farm are my recommended companies.

I’m glad your looking at Jeweler’s Mutual thats what I did and its great!  I will be probably be adding more pieces to it when I find out how if the amethyst chocker and bracelet in yellow gold I inherited are worth anything.   Also if one of you is military affiliated and or has a parent that is you could try USAA and see if they will do it as a stand alone.

State farm has Personal Article Policies–no cap for jewelry ($0 deductible if lost/stolen), guns, furs, artwork, etc. My bff put her $10k ring on one

coldbee:  mine is on State Farm too; pretty bulletproof policy — nuclear incidents aren’t covered, but that won’t matter if something nuclear happens. State Farm has been amazing for me.

smart NOT to put it on your renters or homeowners — the likelihood of a claim on a ring is much higher than a house…no one wants to have their homeowners go way up because of their ring. With the PAP I have a policy that protects us if she loses it, and it won’t hurt my other lines of insurance
