Ring looseness

I have the same problem, my rings get really loose in winter, but they fit fine in summer. I bought some “ring snuggies” which are little rubber tubes you pop on to your ring to take up a little extra space so they fit tightly. They’re small and go on the underside of your hand, so they aren’t really visible, and it saves the trouble of having to get your ring resized twice a year.

@HannahGrace:  mine did this.. I ended up sizing it down a quarter of a size. however with a band they both get tighter so I’d wait if you can..I think I might need mine sized back up when I start wearing both.

@HannahGrace:  That happened to me too! My finger can change a whole size through out the year and even in a few days.

So Ill suggest to you eexactly what I did:

1st I had small metal balls placed inside the band- this too help top heavy solitaires not to turn around, but it also helps with fit when you dont need to get the ring resized.

That worked fine. We did it 2 weeks after I got engaged

Between now and our engagement I lost a little weight, so I really needed to have it resized. The jeweler changed the size by 1/4- 1/6th of a ring size. Now it is comfortably loose when my fingers are cold and slightly snug when my fingers are “puffy” from heat. I prefer it to beslightly snug than super wiggly like it was.

Mine do this too! It spins constantly but I couldn’t get my ring sized down smaller than a 4 without compromising the setting. I wear my band with it and it doesn’t help I would get the little gold balls but they are pretty expensive usually $100 or more or like another pp said you can get the little plastic snuggies (but they usually fall off.)

@HannahGrace:  I have the exact same problem. It was the tinest bit loose when he proposed on Thanksgiving (not enough to bother with a size change) but then the temp dipped and now it spins like crazy. But I put on my BFF’s wedding band the other day since we’re the same size and it totally fixed the issue. It’s totally secure once there’s another thin band on my finger. So I’d wait. Especially since you don’t want it to end up TIGHT once Summer comes!

I was sized in the summer and got my ring in the winter. Its pretty loose and spins, but I don’t ever worry about it falling off. It gets caught on my knuckle. However, I do take it off whenever there is cold water involved – it makes my hands even colder and slippery too.

I didn’t resize mine because I was sized when my finger was at its biggest, and I wouldn’t want it to feel tight in the summer. Also, I know with the band it will become even tighter, so I’m just dealing for now 🙂

mine gets terribly loose when cold!  I wind thread around the bottom of the shank to keep it tight.

I think sizing beads too.  BUT, a band with it will make it feel more snug, so before you do anything make sure you try it with a band the width your wedder will be.

Op it really depends exactly how tight your ring is in summer. Can you afford to go down a size? When my FI proposed the ring was wayy to big in cold and just right in the heat. I went one size smaller and now it’s even. More right in the heat, and still a bit loose in the cold. When I wear my band it’s just fine. So it really depends, you may be able to go down a size with no problems if it’s not too tight in summer.

I’m having the same issue! The colder it gets, the looser it seems to get. Since I hate wearing gloves, I’m always worried when I’m going outside for any reason. As soon as I get inside anywhere, I find the first heat source I can (such as the space heater right beside my desk at work right now). My band is actually made to go under my e-ring, so I don’t think that’ll help me. I may look into those snuggies…
