I apologize for the rant and thank you in advance for dealing with it! Ok, slight background on my ring problems. My wonderful Fiance proposed with a beautiful, custom, perfect-for-me ring from a reputable company. A week later, a diamond fell out. Apparently when he had the ring sized, they didn’t check to make sure the prongs were still tightly fitting over the beautiful diamonds on the side. So, I brought it in and asked them to replace the diamond, which was no problem since he bought the warranty on it. HOWEVER, they needed to take my ring for 9 WEEKS to fix it. One tiny little diamond. Ok, newly engaged, so not no, but hell no. So, I stood my ground, told them I found another jeweler who could fix it in 3-10 days, much more acceptable, and I’d even pay for it. They said that’d void the warranty. Still standing my ground, they custom ordered a new ring for me. I kept the damaged one, with them saying it’d be about 6-8 weeks. Fine.
Fast forward to now….15 WEEKS LATER…my Fiance went in to pick up the new ring that just came it. They butchered it, it wasn’t the right ring at all! Now they are giving us hell about it. Saying that it isn’t their fault (um, then whose would it be)? And that they didn’t have any other options for us until the manager could talk to us, which they won’t tell us when they’d be in. On the plus side, I still have the original ring that I was proposed to, on the other hand, that reputable company just earned themselves a bona-fide enemy who is intent on raining hell on them.
Did anyone else get so mad they started shaking at something that should have never been broken? Anyone else have problems with their engagement ring?
