Oh man, I can see how that would be disappointing!

@futuremrswood25:  wooowww that’s identical to your dream ring! It’s gorgeous, but so is your ring! Does mco have any kind of trade up upgrade program? could you reset your moissy in that setting when you get married maybe?

@futuremrswood25:  Aww 🙁

I can relate SOOOO much!

My husband & I invested an a regular 9mm coating enhanced round brilliant moissanite in 2010 (when we were saving up for the setting to create my custom dream ring), & about a year later my DREAM Old European Cut (OEC) came out & I was just absolutely crushed! We hadn’t bought the setting yet, so I begged & begged & begged MoissaniteCo to return my unused 9mm RB & exchanged it for an OEC Amora (I had to pay an upgrade fee, of course).

My advice is to get what you absolutely adore! It is so worth it, if you can afford it! Also, if moissaniteco’s rendition of your dream setting isn’t spot on, upgrade to custom. Do what is ultimately going to keep you happy, because it’s worth it IMO 🙂

Maybe they’ll exchange it?

@futuremrswood25: Yeah, I didn’t figure MoissaniteCo would take a “trade up” on it because it is used, & also because frankly I have this very keen knack at talking people into things that most people can’t (I don’t mean to sound self-important, I really don’t).

But if you have the funds, I think you should upgrade. My OEC center stone is my absolutely favorite part of my ring, & upgrading was the best decision we could have made.

Keep in mind though, that at some point they will probably come out with an ACC (antique cut) cushion amora gem moissanite, & then you might be sad you didn’t wait for that if the dream ring really is perfect in everyway for you, since it’s center is antique cut.

(btw, was the surpise about your ring whether or not it would have milgrain?)

Sell your current ring on the diamond bistro and then upgrade, if you feel that strongly.

I doubt Moissco have a trade in policy.

Be happy with what you have. Just remember the dream man is more important then the dream ring.

@futuremrswood25:  Damn, that sucks! It’s like they read your mind 8 months too late. Boo. But on the plus side your ring is lovely AND it’s the one your FI gave to you. Smile

Try and sell your setting and get the one you want! Or save up for it and put another stone in your current setting 🙂

i think they’re both gorgeous! at first i was like huh they’re pretty much the same till i saw the sides. I get why that’d be annoying! hope you have luck trying to change it for that one, but if not i think your ring you have now is amazing!!
