…We’re going this weekend! We haven’t decided what day yet though. We’re going to play it by ear, and if we’re not busy then we’ll check out some stores.
Just wanted to share because I’m kind of excited :p

Exciting! SO and I went three times. Twice to the same store. The last time we went he actually put the ring on layaway. Cloud 9 for you young lady. I felt so good after ring shopping the first time. It took him 11 months from our first trip to get the ring though–9 months from when we actually found the store and the ring. Hopefully your SO’s process is A LOT faster. I’m still not engaged. But the ring is purchased…GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks ladies! I’m afraid that I will be so excited when we go, that I’ll get nervous and not know what to ask the jeweller. I know I have some questions though.
Also, we’ve never done this before, so I’m assuming the jeweller is similar to a car salesman… They try to talk you into buying something. Next thing you know you’re giving them a down payment and signing papers, lol (it happened with my car purchase, haha!). Can anyone confirm or deny this for me? I really don’t know what to expect. Obviously I would love it if the jeweller pursuaded us 🙂

@GwenvonD: from my exp the sales people don’t push the sales if the woman is there. Usually, they try to get the guy alone and ask him what his budget is etc and try to steer you guys towards something that fits you.
My Fiance actually scoped out the store first, saw an estate vintage he liked and brought me bak to “look around” and I picked out that one as my fav without even knowing he liked it too! He took me to another store just in case and when I didn’t see anything there he called to place that one on hold.
