i recently got engaged and had gone with my fiancé to pick out the ring initially and the jeweler measured my finger.
well the ring fits, but in the short time I’ve had it, have experienced my fingers swelling to the point where I can’t get the ring off. The swelling goes down and I can get the ring off but it takes some time.
Do you think the ring is too small and I should get it up a size? Is that something that can be done?
thanks for your help

@RosieRo: I would get it sized up a quater of a size Just for comfort or maybe a half size. Windex works with getting them off!!

Congrats on your engagement!
Does your ring ever fit “just right”? If so, I’d say maybe give it some time. My ring fit a little snug at first, and then my finger sort of grew around it, and I had to get it sized down half a size! Also, you want to be absolutely certain that it’s not going to fall off when you’re fingers shrink in the cold. If it’s to the point of being uncomfortable, I would definitely say it’s too tight and to get it sized up just a bit.

@RosieRo: Yeah, i would take it to the store and have them size you. You never want your ring to not come off. Even when mine are swollen, I can still wiggle it off.

@RosieRo: If you’re having this problem in Chigago at this time of year, I definitely think the ring is too small.
It’s very hard to find a ring size that fits perfectly all of the time, due to fluctuations in water retention (swelling), climate (my rings are always tighter when I’m near the beach), and weather (they are tighter in the summer and much looser in the winter.)
Although I do not like the fact that my ring spins to the left most of the time, I would rather have this happen than for my rings to be too tight. Because of this, even though the jeweler measured my finger as a size 6, I insisted on ordering a 6.5. I’m very glad I did this, since, even when my fingers are most swollen, my rings are not terribly uncomfortable for me to wear.

if it is too snug now, it will not fit in the summer. bring it back to the jewelry store and have them resize it.
